Professor Werner Nahm was recently awarded the 2012 Gothenburg Lise Meitner prize by the departments of Fundamental Physics and Applied physics at Chalmers University of Technology and the Department of Physics at the University of Gothenburg. The nomination in particular refers to Professor Nahm’s important pioneering work on supersymmetry and on magnetic monopoles. Professor Nahm is a world leader in quantum field and in string theory and holds several international prizes. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society.
