A major M7.9 earthquake occurred in Nepal on 25th April at 06:11 UTC (11:56 local time), 80km northwest of Kathmandu. Many large aftershocks >M5 have been recorded by the Irish National Seismic Network (INSN). The fatalities to date from this event are 3,700 with over 6,500 injured.
