Title: Anyonic (or Symmetric) Tensor Network States
Speaker: Babatunde Ayeni (Maynooth University)
Abstract: The focus of my talk would be on a broad class of tensor networks (TN) with a generic type of quantum symmetry: anyonic symmetry. This class of tensor networks is called anyonic tensor networks. The progression of my talk would be: First, I will give a quick reminder of “ordinary” (or non-symmetric) tensor networks, particularly, matrix product states (MPS). Second, as a prelude to anyonic TN, I will show how to incorporate particle number [or U(1)] symmetry into TN giving a TN with a global particle number. Third, I will give an overview of the algebraic theory of anyons necessary for working with anyonic TN, and then I show the construction of anyonic tensors and associated tensor network states. Finally, I will discuss some simple models of many-body system of non-Abelian anyons and show some results.
