DIAS statement in relation to Professor Hans-Benjamin Braun
Published on Sunday 6th September 2020
Professor Hans-Benjamin Braun is not now – nor has he ever been – an employee of DIAS. He has no contractual association with the Institute.
Professor Braun is a former member of the Board of the School of Theoretical Physics at DIAS, and served on that Board from March 2015 to the end of March 2020. He has also been a visiting academic at the Institute. Any references to Professor Braun on the DIAS website, or other external third party websites, relate to these aforementioned associations.
Update – 6th October 2020
DIAS was informed during the second week in September that Professor Braun had successfully sought re-appointment to the Board of the School of Theoretical Physics for its new term of office, which runs from 2020 to 2025. Furthermore, late last week, DIAS was informed that the Cabinet accepted the resignation of Professor Braun from this Board position at a meeting on 29th September.
Appointments to the Boards of Schools at DIAS are made, external to DIAS, through a statutory process that is defined under the Institute for Advanced Studies Act (1940).
