The Unexpected Ways Stellar Winds Shape Star Formation

Abstract: Massive stars regulate star formation by injecting large quantities of energy into their environment in a process called feedback. In this talk I’ll discuss some of my recent work to understand how feedback from young massive stars interacts, in particular stellar winds and ionising radiation, using simulations and analytic theory. I focus on the role of winds in regulating radiation feedback from young massive stars in their formation environment, and prospects for comparison to observations of nearby HII regions such as the Orion Nebula.
