In early 2022 the DIAS Planetary Magnetospheres group, led by Prof. Caitriona Jackman, is offering an opportunity by way of a  3-month studentship for a bright, motivated candidate to be mentored in research  methods on a research project linking planetary magnetospheric dynamics at Mercury with cutting edge machine learning techniques and approaches.

The position would be full-time for 3 months and suitable for a new graduate or an early stage postgraduate. The aim is to allow a candidate to receive practical training in advanced research methods and to experience a research environment. The studentship would begin from February 1^st 2022 and end on April 31^st 2022. The candidate would be mentored by Prof. Jackman and will receive a tax-free stipend of €1,500 per month.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Thursday January 20th 2022. The successful candidate will be notified by email within 1 week.
