The DIAS Planetary Magnetospheres group, led by Prof. Caitriona Jackman, is offering a 3-month studentship for a bright, motivated candidate to work on a research project on planetary magnetospheric dynamics at Earth and to construct a database of Auroral Kilometric Radio emissions, using newly developed Python software, to study Solar-Terrestrial Physics.
The position would be full-time for 3 months and suitable for a new graduate or an early stage postgraduate. The aim is to allow a candidate to receive practical training in advanced research methods and to experience a research environment. The studentship would begin mid-May 2022 until mid-August 2022. The candidate would be mentored by Dr. Corentin Louis and will receive a tax-free stipend of €1,500 per month.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday April 29th 2022.
Please note: Given the current situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic it is possible these positions will need to be offered on a remote working basis. Should this need arise, candidates should have access to desktop or laptop computer and internet connection in order to be able to participate.
