Martin manages the seismic networks that are operated by the Geophysics section in DIAS. This includes the Irish National Seismic Network, the ‘Hekla Array’ network near Hekla volcano in Iceland, and seismic stations at Sierra Negra volcano in Galápagos, Ecuador.  He oversees the section’s mobile broadband seismometer pool and related field campaigns. Martin operates the national broadband seismic data centre and represents DIAS at Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) meetings in Vienna. His main research areas are environmental and volcano seismology and seismic network operations.
