Local Earthquakes

DIAS Geophysics has monitored and recorded local earthquakes around Ireland since 1980. The map and table below outline the events that have been recorded (and sometimes felt by the human population). Reporting a ‘seismic event’ is important to us as it helps us, at DIAS Geophysics, to collect critical information regarding the felt extent of an earthquake, and the effect of the earthquake on the built environment. This information also provides Scientists with a better understanding of the earthquake risk in Ireland.

To report an event, please fill out the earthquake questionnaire

Our separate Irish national Seismic Network (INSN) site has a complete listing of all our confirmed local events
