Dublin Airport (DUB) is located about 10 km north of the city center and is served by a number of international airlines. Cheaper tickets for flights within Europe are offered by Ryanair, Aerlingus and other no-frills airlines.

To get from the airport to the city center, hotels and DIAS (workshop venue, 10 Burlington Road), taxi is about 25€ one way. Another convinient option is the Aircoach (the buses you are likely to see on your left as you come out of the terminal). There are two or more routes going to or through the city centre, with most stops at major hotels. A single ticket costs 7€, round-trip 12€. The service is about every 10-20 minutes during the day and once an hour from midnight to 4 a.m. The Dublin Bus company offers additional connections to the city center, including the Airlink.

Getting to the Pembroke Townhouse with the Aircoach:

Take the Aircoach to the Jury's Hotel stop on the BALLSBRIDGE/DONNYBROOK route (www.aircoach.ie/map.routes.ballsbridge.php). Walk back and to the left onto Pembroke Road, for about 150 m, and you will find Pembroke Townhouse on your right, it's 90 Pembroke Road (www.pembroketownhouse.ie).

Getting to 5 Merrion Square (home of the Geophysics Section but NOT the venue of the workshop) with the Aircoach:

Take the Aircoach that stops at Merrion Sq. The stop is in front of No. 5. Ring the bell.

Local transportation in Dublin:

There are plenty of bus routes to get around in town. Bus drivers accept payment only in coins. If you don't have exact fare, they will issue a refund note that can be exchanged for money later at one of the Dublin Bus offices, including the one on O’Connell Street. Taxis in Dublin are easy to flag down, dependable and reasonably affordable.
