The School of Celtic Studies, DIAS presents a short lecture about An Stad.
Located on North Frederick St in Dublin, fronted as a tobacco shop, An Stad became a focal point for many Irish cultural organisations in the early 20th Century. Numerous historical Irish figures, such as Michael Cusack & James Joyce, frequented An Stad; many leaving entries in the shop’s renowned guestbooks. The guestbooks, which have significant historical value, will be displayed on the night.
The lecture will be presented by Dr Mícheál Hoyne. Times: 18.30-19.00 & 19.00-19.30.

Visit Dublin’s historical observatory and the home of Ireland’s greatest mathematician and scientist, William Rowan Hamilton. See the magnificent Victorian engineering of the South telescope and dome, built by Grubb of Dublin.
Times: 19:00 – 23:00. Advance registration is required
