Tuesday 28th May : STP Seminar – Torsion and spin in holographic Lovelock Chern-Simons gravity

Title: Torsion and spin in holographic Lovelock Chern-Simons gravity

Speaker: Gallegos Pazos (University of Utrecht)

Abstract: The use of holography in the study of strongly coupled systems with a non-trivial spin current will be discussed. The incorporation of the spin current operator is in general achieved by considering holographic duals with non-vanishing spacetime torsion. A particular holographic recipe for five dimensional Lovelock Chern-Simons gravity is reviewed and some examples are discussed in the context of the fluid gravity correspondence. Generalizations to more general class of theories are also discussed.

Time: Tuesday 28 May 2019, 2.30pm
