Dr. Martin Möllhoff – Director of Seismic Networks

Martin manages the seismic networks that are operated by the Geophysics section in DIAS. This includes the Irish National Seismic Network and the HERSK real-time network on Hekla volcano in Iceland.  He oversees the section’s mobile broadband seismometer pool and related field campaigns and operates the national broadband seismic data centre. Martin carries out operational research mainly concerned with seismic network operations, environmental seismology, volcano seismology and microseisms. A favourite part of his duties is to manage field campaigns on volcanoes.
