Japanese Space Mission ASTRO-H launch this Friday 12th February 2016

DIAS is a partner in Japan’s ASTRO-H space mission. The spacecraft has been delivered to the launch site in Tanegashima for a scheduled launch by the Japanese Space Agency JAXA this Friday. The launch will be broadcast live on youtube at approx. 9:00am GMT.

12th January 2016 - Senior Professor Chris Bean awarded SFI Research Infrastructure Award

Senior Professor Chris Bean, Head of the Geophysics Section in the School of Cosmic Physics, has been awarded a Science Foundation Ireland Research Infrastructure Award.  Read more


12th - 14th April 2016 Contested Astrophysics

The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), with the support of an interdisciplinary grant from the Irish Research Council will hold a specialist workshop in April 2016 examining some disputed areas of high-energy astrophysics.
