The 3D inversion test data set

The 3D inversion test data set consists of 144 sites which are equally distributed over an area of about 40 km x 40 km. There are 12 profiles with 12 sites each. The spacing between the sites and also between the profiles is 7 km.

The period range of the data set is 0.016 s to 10 000 s (30 periods) and the resistivity range of the used model structure is 0.1 Ωm - 100 Ωm. It is your choice how many and which sites and periods you include in your inversion (as it would be for real data).

There is one edi file for each site and the map below shows the site locations.

Download the edi data set here.

Note, loading the edis into, e.g., WinGLink the sites will plot in the correct locations if using the following projection: Transverse Mercator Projection with a UTM grid, WGS1984, true origin of 0°00’00.0” latitude and 0°00’00.0” longitude, grid coordiantes of true origin 0 m Northing and 500 000 m Easting.
