KIDs: The Next Generation

The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies is pleased to announce a workshop devoted to the development of the next generation of Kinetic Inductance Detectors (KIDs) on 7th and 8th September 2017. Emphasis will be on improvements in their manufacture, design and methods of read-out as well as their future uses in ground and space-based instrumentation.

Invited speakers include Jason Austermann (NIST), Jochem Baselmans (SRON), Gregoire Coiffard (University of California), Peter Day (JPL), Pieter de Visser (SRON), Simon Doyle (Cardiff), Brad Johnson (Columbia), Philip Mauskopf (ASU), Kieran O'Brien (Oxford), Erik Shirokoff (Chicago) and Jonas Zmuidzinas (Caltech/JPL).

Registration is free but participation is strictly limited to 40 researchers in the field or allied areas to encourage a strongly focused environment. Short oral (approximately 20 minutes including questions) and poster contributions are very welcome. The venue for the workshop will be in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) Headquarters close to the city center. The precise location can be found here. A workshop dinner will be held on the evening of the 7th September in one of Ireland's renowned pubs followed by traditional Irish music and dancing.
