Binarity, outflows and disks in young stellar objects: the case of HH 250
Abstract:
Binary stars, a common outcome of the star formation process, are particularly interesting among young stellar objects as probes of the early dynamical evolution of multiple stellar systems. Many among those display some of the observational manifestations of stellar youth, such as evidence for circumstellar disks and envelopes, accretion, and outflows, but few show most or all of those features at once. I will introduce the HH 250 system, a Herbig-Haro object powered by a binary star, which is one of just a handful of examples in which we can observe both components of the central binary, measure the spectral energy distribution of their respective circumstellar disks, determine the proper motion of the Herbig-Haro object, and find evidence of a circumbinary disk.
