Title: Holographic gauge theories on the lattice
Abstract: I will first present results from our lattice studies of three-dimensional N = 8 SYM theory in the decoupling limit and finite temperatures where the gauge/gravity conjecture relates it to a stack of N D2-branes in Type II supergravity. Then, I will discuss our ongoing work on BMN model (named after the authors of hep-th/0202021) which is a matrix model in 0+1-dimensions possessing some unique features and expected to describe the discrete light-cone gauge (DLCQ) compactification of M-theory on plane wave background with maximal supersymmetry.
