A Hidden Brown Dwarf? The MUSE view of a precessing stellar jet

Abstract: Protostellar jets are a dramatic and ubiquitous phenomenon of young accreting stars which can shed light on many aspects of the star and protoplanetary disk formation. In particular, jets which are observed to precess may hint at the presence of a companion affecting the inner disk. This talk will present a study of the Th 28 young stellar jet with MUSE, a powerful integral field spectrograph which allows simultaneously optical-NIR imaging and spectroscopy of the jet. In particular we present an analysis of the jet precession and the possibility for using jet precession as a tool to identify hidden companions around young stars.
