1B. Middle Welsh: Professor Barry Lewis (DIAS)
11.30–13.00
2A. Reading Old Irish: Professor David Stifter (Maynooth University)
2B. Old Irish Law Texts: Professor Liam Breatnach (DIAS)
Afternoon
14.30–15.30
3. Contemporary Irish Syntax: Professor James McCloskey (University of California, Santa Cruz)
16.00–17.00
4. Reading Irish Manuscripts: Dr Chantal Kobel (DIAS)
Lectures will be held at the Institute’s premises at 10 Burlington Road, Dublin 4, from Monday to Saturday in the first week, and from Monday to Friday in the second. Morning sessions last for an hour and a half, while those in the afternoon last for one hour.
The Summer School is non-residential and the Institute cannot provide accommodation for students.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the School will be limited to students and scholars whose interests lie in Celtic Studies or related fields, such as Anglo-Saxon, linguistics, comparative philology, comparative literature, history, etc.
Completed applications with a statement of support from the applicant’s academic supervisor should be returned to the School Administrator by 31 March 2022.
The final date for registration (and payment of fee) is 20 May 2022. As there will be a limited number of places available, early application is advisable.
The fee will be €250.
