2013: Ph.D.,
Geophysics, Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, Italy.
Locating the Source of Volcanic tremorat Stromboli Volcano, Italy.
2009: M. Sc.,
Geodynamics, Geophysics and Volcanology, La Sapienza, University of
Rome, Italy.
Research Interests
Post-doctoral
Research Fellow at DIAS on EUROVOLC
project.
Mariantonietta’s research at DIAS sits within the EUROVOLC project which aims to harmonise volcanological infrastructure and communities in Europe. The specific task associated with this position is to track pre-eruptive changes in material mechanical properties. In particular, the research is focused on looking at imminent pre-eruptive time lapse velocity changes, using both multiplets and ambient noise methods on Sierra Negra volcano in Galapagos Island.
Previously Mariantonietta worked as a Post-doctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia and worked on anomalous induced seismicity in northeast British Columbia. In particular, she was involved in deploying and maintaining a portable seismic array, as well as processing and interpreting the seismic ground motion data. The purpose of this study was to invastigate the variables and processes controlling the anomalous induced seismicity and its associated ground motions, to better understand the anomalous induced seismicity do to hydraulic fracturing.
